Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) mengeluarkan peringatan dini tsunami untuk lima wilayah di Indonesia. Peringatan itu menyusul terjadinya gempa bumi berkekuatan magnitudo 7,7 di wilayah Laut Sulawesi. Berdasarkan data BMKG, gempa terjadi pada pukul 06.37.42 WIB, Senin, 8 Juni 2026.
